How TV shows are compiled in DVD?

Before, people would come home early just to watch their favorite TV show. It is very convenient watching your favorite TV shows at home, however, TV shows are played continuously that some people missed an episode or a scene because some of them came late at home or in some cases, one of their housemates watch another TV show. To ease that kind of problem, TV shows are compiled in CDs or in DVDs for people who are having trouble catching up on their favorite TV shows.

In this generation, people would just buy their favorite TV shows compiled in DVD to be watched whenever they want without missing a scene or an episode because if ever they did not finish an episode, they could just play the scene from where they stopped. And by watching in a CD or DVD, you would just watch the show over and over again without the hassles of missing a part from the TV show you watched from your TV station.

In the end, some people would ask, does the TV station get a compensation from the compiled TV shows? Probably, yes because I think some TV stations can get a compensation from the DVD manufacturers when one of their TV shows became popular.
